Not Zestimates Zestimations... ie Creamations of the homes across America.

They created a software to generalize every house in existence into one category.  House.

Then they used the simplest of criteria to come up with numbers that were within 23-35% INACCURATE.

Of course then they wrote a tiny little disclaimer in the smallest letters on the bottom of their MONGUL site and Twa La, some dirt bag gets rich and sinks the value of every home in America causing the hugest real estate crash in American History.  Of course they have to their advantage that most Americans are in a coma and as much as they are angry NO ONE WILL CHALLENGE THEM.  Its the American way..you can rape, rob and pillage people, as long as they don't take you to court, you're good.

So when will someone take Zillow to Court?  When will the Zestimations end?

  1. Well, I think that anyone out there that uses technology, i.e., a subset of google earth, to aid in pushing their "home value estimates", put themselves at an immediate advantage over others, and by that fact alone, lend "credibility" to their otherwise potentially completely inaccurate estimates, but, as a result, they set the price, because who else is competing with them? They drive the market values, for better or worse, until someone disputes it.

  2. I wish people knew about zillow and their Top Contributors. Zillow drives user numbers up by doom/gloom tactics and only let's information out that benefits Zillow, not the general welfare or truth.Exposure to this problem is imperative. Zillows top contributors "Agent Bash" when ever they want, not good for Realtors.

  3. And Zillow's top contributors AREN'T EVEN LICENSED REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONALS! That blows my mind. They insert a couple weblinks and all of a sudden they're Real Estate Instructors. It pisses me off.

  4. My Home was zestimated at $456K and it is barely worth $300K. That effects who will even look at the home, especially young couples who believe Zillow. I tried to get my home label off Zillow but somehow they claim they have a right to evaluate every home. I consider it a loss of personal freedom. Most values are not near the local tax values so there is no true evaluation. One realtor I had was able to add a second label for the same house - my house - with the true value. Then the higher value was moved way down the street. When I asked Zillow to remove the second (higher value) label they removed the realtor's value. She was really upset with Zillow.

  8. I loved it when in 2016 my house Zestimate climbed from 600k to 725k in a matter of months. Then one day it went from 725k to 640k overnight. And the best part is the graph of the last few years didn't reflect this. The graph was just rewritten with new numbers, topping off at 640k. What a load.
